Speedway 660 Set for Saturday’s Season Opener May 23, 2014 Regional The 2014 Speedway 660 stock car racing season gets underway on Saturday night. The Riverview Ford Season Opener and Re/Max Kids Night will highlight an action packed card of racing in the Geary Woods. Kids of all ages will enjoy racing in five exciting divisions and fans 12 and under will get to go out on the track at intermission for an incredible candy scramble. “After a couple of rain-outs the last two weeks, everyone is really excited to get the racing season underway and this year it’ll be extra special because we are combining the Riverview Ford Season Opener with Re/Max Kids Night” said Speedway 660’s Max Roy. “We’ll open the pits early so everyone can go meet the drivers and check out their race cars, then our youngest fans can participate in our candy scramble at intermission plus we’ll all see a great night of racing in five divisions.” For this week only, the pits open from 5:15 until 6PM and fans will have a chance to meet their favourite drivers, get autographs, take photos and check out the race cars. Bandolero and Sharp Shooter heat races take the green flag at 6:20PM and street stock, sportsman and pro stock heats begin at 7PM. There will be point racing in the Westwood Estate Apartments Bandolero, Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter, DMR Auto Sales and Service Street Stock, Martins Home Heating Sportsman and ReMax/Group Four Realty Pro Stock Divisions. “There’s a lot of anticipation surrounding the start of the 2014 racing season and we are especially excited because there’ll be great car-counts in all five divisions” said Max Roy. “The Bandoleros and Sharp Shooters have become an excellent feeder system and we’ll see several drivers from those divisions who have moved up to street stock, sportsman and pro stock this year.” Riverview Ford Season Opener and the Re/Max Kids Night Adult ticket prices are14 dollars – for this special kids event all kids 15 years of age and under – admission is absolutely free for Speedway 660’s youngest fans.
