Scotia Speedworld Gearing Up for 30th Anniversary Season February 7, 2017 Regional HALIFAX, NS – Mangement at Scotia Speedworld are excited to announce their schedule of events for the 30th anniversary season at the 3/10-mile oval. The 2017 schedule sees a total of 21 stock car events from May to September. Scotia Speedworld is the only track in the province of Nova Scotia that produces a motorsports show every week throughout the summer season. As with previous seasons, Scotia Speedworld will open for the year on the Victoria Day long weekend in May. The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and the Maritime League of Legends Tour will begin their seasons on Saturday, May 20. The CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series will open the following day on Sunday, May 21 and will feature all six divisions that comprise the regular season Friday night program. Monster Jam will take over the track the following weekend with three shows scheduled for May 27 & May 28. In celebration of Canada’s 150th Birthday, the annual Affordable Fuels Sportsman feature on Friday, August 11 has been extended to 150-laps. The Toursec Thunder and Lightning, Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros and Coors Light Truck divisions will run as support with features only on the evening to accommodate the extra laps in the Sportsman 150 feature. The 18th Annual Atlantic Cat 250 will feature the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and 50-laps for the Maritime League of Legends Tour on Saturday, August 12. The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will also be at Scotia Speedworld on Saturday, July 24 for a 150-lap event and will conclude their season on Saturday, September 16 with a 200-lap finale. Fanfest returns for a third season on Friday, July 21. The event features a 30-minute autograph session with the CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series stars and free admission to the grandstands for fans that pick up tickets in advance at one of Scotia Speedworld’s participating marketing partner locations. Scotia Speedworld will host two Kiddie Rides nights on June 30 and September 1. This popular event allows children to hop in a race car with their favourite driver and do a few controlled laps around the track.
