Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC Renews Riverside Sponsorship March 7, 2014 Regional It is with great pleasure that management at Riverside International Speedway announce Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC is back as title sponsor for the Ron MacGillivray Chev 150 on June 14. The Antigonish General Motors dealership has been a sponsor at the track since it reopened in 2006 and has been the title sponsor for the season opener, a Martime Pro Stock Tour sanctioned event, since 2007. During that time the event has grown from 100 laps (from 2007 to 2012) to 150 (starting in 2013). There have been four different winners of the race, including two each for Antigonish hometown favourite Donald Chisholm, and Shawn Tucker (Fredericton, NB); while Greg Proude (Charlottetown, PE) and the late Mike Stevens (Moncton, NB) each visited the Ron MacGillivray Victory Lane once. With his win in 2013 Chisholm is the defending champion. Advance tickets for the Ron MacGillivray 150 will be available in May. More event details will be posted at www.riversidespeedway.ca as available. Riverside International Speedway is recognized as a premiere stock racing facility in Canada. The 1/3-mile high banked asphalt oval roars to action several times a year for special events. It is the home for eastern Canada’s only NASCAR event, and of the IWK 250 – widely known as the best stock car race in Canada. Located in James River, between New Glasgow and Antigonish, the facility is easily accessible at exit 30 on Trans-Canada Highway 104.
