The high banks of Petty International Raceway will be ringing with the sounds of engines and the aroma of race fuel and rubber as the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour makes its only stop at River Glade. The Mr. Lube + Tires 150 is round three on the popular Maritime-based touring series and anchors a seven-division show on Saturday. Racing begins at 4 pm.

In addition to the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour and Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends Tour, five house divisions will contest championship point events on Saturday as a part of the undercard. The AJW Mechanical Sportsman will race their first point race at Petty International Raceway as a part of a home and home six race series with Speedway 660. The Mister Transmission Mini Stock and Leisure Days RV Bandolero and Beginners will race in their second events of the 2024 season. The Women on Wheels will embark on their first voyage around the quarter mile for the year. For the five house classes competing on Saturday, it is the first of back-to-back races as they will be back on track on Saturday, June 15th.

Visiting driver Kody Quinn (Glace Bay, NS) won the first Mister Transmission Mini Stock race of the year on May 11th. He topped a dozen other four-cylinder stars including former champion Mike Weagle and his 10/60 Racing teammate Patricia Weagle (Steeves Mountain, NB). The pair are expected to be early season-long title contender favorites but only time will tell if one of the Weagles will hoist the big trophy at the end of the year.

Leisure Days RV Bandolero races on Opening Day were won by Bristol Matthews (Beginner; Nine Mile River, NS) and Hudson Ruff (Bandolero; Long Reach, NB). With several Bandolero teams associated with East Coast International Pro Stock Tour teams visiting on Saturday, a new crop of Bandolero drivers will make their first attempt at the high-banked oval for 2024, including recent Scotia Speedworld Beginner winner Addison Veinotte (Porters Lake, NS) and Bandolero point leader in Halifax Hailey Bland (Lakeview, NS).

This race is Race One for the AJW Mechanical Sportsman at Petty in 2024 and also marks the opener for the six-race home and home series between Petty International Raceway and Speedway 660. While not counting towards the Series, Speedway 660 has hosted one Summit Dodge Sportsman race on May 18th. Drew Greenlaw (Eastport, ME) picked up where he left off in 2023 with the win in Geary. Courtney O’Blenis (Boundary Creek, NB) and “The Old Musket” Richard Atkinson (Geary, NB) completed the podium. Dennis Nickerson (Marshy Hope, NS) won the Auto World Maritime All Stars Series event contested at Petty Raceway on May 11th. The Sportsman racers are scheduled for a 75-lap feature on Saturday.

The Women on Wheels is looking for a new champion in 2024 after Gail Thebeau made good on her word and retired on top after the 2023 championship. These ladies may be friends off-track but the on-track competition is fierce with no inches being spared. It is a feature that is sure to leave you on the edge of your seat on Saturday!

Previews for the Mr. Lube + Tires 150 for the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour and the R&D Performancenter 50 for the Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends Tour can be found on their respective websites ahead of their races on Saturday.
