Jukasa Motor Speedway Closed Permanently November 16, 2021 Miscellaneous HAGERSVILLE, ON – Stakeholders of Jukasa Motor Speedway have made the difficult decision to close Jukasa Motor Speedway for business, effective immediately. There are no plans to re-open. We are extremely thankful to the fans, competitors, staff and partners for their support of Jukasa Motor Speedway since its reopening in 2017. Formerly known as Cayuga Speedway, the site hosted some of the top racing series and drivers in North America since opening in 1966. It closed in 2009 and in 2014 was sold to local businessmen Ken Hill and Jerry Montour, at the time in a state of disrepair. The facility was totally rebuilt including a new track surface and reopened to much fanfare in 2017. 2018 saw the inaugural Canadian Short Track Nationals with the second-annual running in 2019. North American short-track superstar Bubba Pollard won the super late model event both years. At the 2019 edition of the event, Hill announced plans were in motion for a $500,000 purse for the 2021 event and for a one million dollar payout in 2021. 2019 was its last full year of operations. COVID-19 restrictions forced a very limited schedule in 2020. Co-owner Hill passed away unexpectedly in January of 2021. With COVID restrictions still uncertain management announced in May that the 2021 season would be canceled.
