It was a remarkable run for the teenager, considering he started the day off exhausted with a mere 90-minutes sleep after scoring a runner-up finish in Saturday’s Snowflake 100. He started the race in the third spot, took the lead on lap 286 and hung on for the checkered flag. Dalton Sargent was second and Derek Thorn third. 2014 Snowball Derby Results showing finish, name, laps completed 1. John Hunter Nemechek 323 2. Dalton Sargeant 323 3. Derek Thorn 323 4.
