DARLINGTON, SC – With inclement weather expected at Darlington Raceway, NASCAR will postpone all at-track activity for Friday. South Carolina is among the areas in the southeastern United States expected to feel harsh weather from the storm named Hermine that formed in the Gulf of Mexico on Thursday with an anticipated path of crossing Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolin before heading out to sea in the Atlantic Ocean. Due to the schedule change, both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR XFINITY Series qualifying sessions that were scheduled for Saturday have been cancelled and starting lineups will be based on the rule book. The Sprint Cup Series will get two practice sessions on Saturday in preparation for Sunday’s Southern 500 and the XFINITY Series will have one practiec session for Saturday afternoon’s VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200. Friday grandstand ticket holders can take their ticket to the ticket office on Saturday and receive $5 off an admission to the NASCAR XFINITY Series race.
