Five Divisions Ready to Race Saturday at Speedway 660 June 24, 2021 Regional GEARY, NB – Speedway 660 returns to action this Saturday, June 26th for their second race of the 2021 season. The Geary, New Brunswick track will host five divisions of stock car racing including the return of the Atlantic Modified Tour with the Bryn Enterprises 35 and a 100-lap RE/MAX East Coast Elite Realty Pro Stock feature. The Late Model Sportsman, DMR Auto Street Stocks and Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters will play support and continues their championship point seasons. Racing action begins on Saturday evening at 6:30pm. The RE/MAX East Coast Elite Realty Pro Stocks and DMR Auto Street Stocks were late additions to the racing card for this week. With recent cancelations throughout the Province, officials have added the Pro Stocks for a 100-lap feature. As of press time, there was not an official entry list available but with an extended distance event and the next Pro Stock race at Speedway 660 not scheduled until July 17th, there is sure to be some familiar names making the haul on Saturday to chase the checkered flag. Ryan Messer (Harvey, NB) is the most recent Pro Stock winner at Speedway 660, winning the Riverview Ford Lincoln Season Opener in May. Messer snapped the streak of consecutive wins by Ashton Tucker (Lyttleton, NB), who has won the most recent pair of RE/MAX 250s. Fans of the Late Model Sportsman class are chomping at the bit to see the encore to the Riverview Ford Lincoln Season Opener. After an exciting finish in May, feature winner Alexandra O’Blenis (Boundary Creek, NB) and heat winner Destiny Enkel (Darlings Island, NB) find themselves tied for the championship lead. With an extended distance 200-lap Sportsman race on the horizon, several teams will use this event as a tune up for the July 3rd event. The DMR Auto Street Stock division was added after a previously scheduled event at the Shediac CENTRE For Speed was cancelled due to travel restrictions entering the Province of Nova Scotia. With those teams ready to compete, Speedway 660 should see a great field of drivers from across New Brunswick. Nick Cudmore (Petitcodiac, NB) was the winner of the Riverview Ford Lincoln Season Opener in May. The Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters never disappoint when they hit the race track. With 25 drivers at their first event comprised of a healthy mix of rookies and experienced drivers, the second helping of four cylinder action at Speedway 660 has been highly anticipated. Veteran drivers BJ Gillespie (Harvey, NB), Matt Martin (Geary, NB) and Randy Titus (French Lake, NB) will have to start scratch on the field due to their recent podium finishes, creating a race within a race as to who can get to the front first. Who will send a Sharp Shooter statement in Race Two? Be at the track Saturday to find out! The Atlantic Modified Tour will compete in the third round of their 2021 season, the Bryn Enterprises 35. Travis Conroy (Miramichi, NB) leads the Mods into battle on Saturday evening as their point leader. You can find a complete preview for the Modified race on Thursday at www.atlanticmodifieds.com. Please note, due to changing travel restrictions for returning teams to Nova Scotia, the Legend and Bandolero events that were being organized for this weekend’s racing card at Speedway 660 have been canceled. The track hopes to welcome these teams back in the near future! For the fifth straight season, children aged 15 and under will be admitted to the grandstands for free to every stock car event at Speedway 660. The admission structure makes it easier for families to attend race events at the track and received positive feedback from fans when implemented mid-season in 2017. Adult grandstand admission price for Saturday night’s racing card is $20 (aged 16 and up). Pit admission is $25 and is restricted to those 16 years of age and older. Tickets are available at the gate on race day. Pit gates for competitors will open at 12pm on Saturday, grandstand gates open for spectators at 5pm with racing getting underway at 6:30pm. A complete race day format will be available via the track’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/Speedway660, on Friday.
