The 2017 racing season at Eastbound Park will introduce Joe Chisholm as its official Race Director. Chisholm famously known for his voice on SiriusXM’s Race Time Radio will join the team this March to prepare for the biggest and most exciting season of stock car racing in Newfoundland and Labrador. Bob Smith Director of Operations at Eastbound Park welcomes the new addition to the Eastbound team. “We are very fortunate to have the experience that Mr. Chisholm brings to the track and he will be a powerful asset with our future plans of making Eastbound International Speedway one of the top oval tracks in North America,” said Smith. For the past 11 years, Joe can be heard coast to coast on Race Time Radio on SiriusXM 167. In August of 2016, Chisholm visited Eastbound International Speedway to broadcast the Edward Collins Contracting 125, and he was in awe of the newly constructed Canadian Gem. “They really got something there on the rock, said Chisholm. Pat Squires and his management team, along with the race teams and everyone connected with that facility have lots to be proud of.” Joe Chisholm, first and foremost is a huge race fan, in his words “it’s a big part of my life, and it’s in my blood” he has been involved in racing for over 30 years. Chisholm once a track owner and operator purchased Ontario’s Sauble Speedway in 1994 and also created Ontario’s historical ALSTAR Racing Series. The opportunity to become the speedway’s Race Director was presented and it didn’t take Joe long to jump in with both feet. “I am excited for this opportunity at Eastbound International Speedway, said Chisholm, and bring my experience to the competitors and race teams. I have worked with some of the biggest names in this industry and I look forward to working with the Management Team of Eastbound International Speedway. It will be an exciting and busy 2017 race season on the rock, as well as live flag to flag coverage of Canadian races from across the country on Sirius XM’s Race Time Radio.
