Cross Roads Legends Tour at Petty Raceway on Saturday June 7, 2024 Regional The Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends Tour will contest its second consecutive race in the Province of New Brunswick on Saturday. The R&D Performancenter 50 is Round Two of 10 on the 2024 schedule and first of two stops at Petty International Raceway for the year. Racing action at the high-banked River Glade, New Brunswick bullring begins at 4 pm. Josh Langille (Coldbrook, NS) enters Saturday as the championship point leader on the strength of his victory one week ago at Speedway 660. Langille held the hot hand last weekend as he also picked up a victory the night prior at Scotia Speedworld during Weekly Series competition at his home track. The 2023 Championship runner-up has Tanton Wooldridge (Summerside, PE), Ayden Christensen (Windsor Junction, NS), Chase MacKay (Bear Cove, NS) and Chase Livingston (Springhill, NS) behind him in the standings, much like he did at the finish of the Speedway 660 event last Saturday. Langille was second in the lone event for the Tour at Petty International Raceway in 2023. The No. 18 was runner-up to Christensen, who scored his first career Tour win at this race last year. Christensen and Langille split the Legend features at the 2023 Mike Stevens Memorial and have to be the favorites on paper heading into the 2024 running of the R&D Performancenter 50. With a field of two dozen Legend cars expected to haul to Petty International Raceway to compete in Round Two of the 2024 season, the talent pool will be deep when the green flag flies on Saturday afternoon. The MacDonald Automotive Rookie of the Year chase kicked off at Speedway 660 last Saturday. Daniel Vandenburg (Lower Onslow, NS) finished 14th to pick up the first Rookie of the Race Award of the year, ahead of Samantha MacDonald (Dartmouth, NS) and Stephen Piccott Jr (Charlottetown, PE). Aiden MacDonald (York, PE) was the Surrogate Technology Management Hard Charger at Speedway 660, while Christensen was awarded a credit to Eastern Powder Coating. Christensen and Nathan Langille (Coldbrook, NS) won EIT Race Radio Heat Races during the Cross Roads 50 at Speedway 660. Grandstand admission prices for Saturday’s events are $30 for adults and $15 for youth aged 11 to 18, while children ten years of age and under will be admitted free. Pit admission is $40 and is restricted to those eight years of age and older. An eWaiver is required to enter the pit area. This electronic form can be found at pirl.speedwaiver.com. Pit gates for competitors open at 10 am, grandstand gates open for spectators at 2 pm with racing getting underway at 4 pm. A complete race day format, along with any necessary changes that need to be communicated, can be found on the Petty Raceway social media platforms. The Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends Tour is in the middle of a three race three weekend stretch. Following the completion of the R&D Performancenter 50, the Series will head across the Confederation Bridge for their only appearance on Prince Edward Island. The Piccott Care 50 at Oyster Bed Speedway serves as the third round of the Series with racing action on Saturday, June 15th beginning at 6pm.
