Chris Reid Wins Sportsman Leg of Cape Breton Opener

SYDNEY, NS – UPDATED WITH RESULTS Cape Breton’s Chris Reid won the Napa Sportsman Series 100 at Cape Breton Memorial Speedway’s grand reopening in Saturday.

A great crowd was on hand to witness the rebirth of the facility after it was purchased by Bill and Lynne Vasil over the past winter. Former track owners Bud Greer and Stan Dicks were on hand to greet drivers as they crossed the podium during driver introductions. The refurbished facility was in top notch shape and promises lots of fender-to0fender racing for the future. The track, formerly known as Island Speedway, had been closed since August 2010.

Besides sportsman, the event included racing in street stock and four cylinder divisions.
