McNeill-Hughes Motorsports has rebranded as East Coast International Racing. The team will again have Chris Hughes of Brackley Beach, Prince Edward Island in its No. 32 East Coast International Chevrolet, and expected to debut at Scotia Speedworld on Saturday, May 24. They will compete in 10 Pro Stock/Pro Late Model races throughout the Maritimes.
Hughes, Branch Manager at the Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island location of East Coast International, will carry the East Coast International branding on his race car for a second consecutive season as a primary marketing partner.
“We’re thrilled to return as a sponsor for Chris and the McNeill-Hughes Motorsports team. This partnership not only allows us to support one of our own, but also keeps us connected to the sport, and our customers who enjoy being part of it,” says Terri Arseneault, Vice President, Heavy Truck Division. “The McNeill-Hughes Motorsports team has been around for many years, and we look forward to supporting them in 2025.”
Hughes has 144 starts on the Maritime Pro Stock Tour (MPST) and is one of only four drivers to have competed in the first series event in 2001 who competed at least once on the Tour in 2024. In 2024, Hughes competed in eight races on the Maritime Pro Stock Tour, finishing tenth in the standings with three top-10 finishes, including a pole position and fourth-place effort at their home track – Oyster Bed Speedway in Oyster Bed Bridge, Prince Edward Island.
The No. 32 team has competed in a handful of Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series (SLMS) races in the two years of the Series, yielding three top-10 finishes. With the schedule for the 2025 season yet to be released, the No. 32 team is expected to compete in, at least, two series appearances at Oyster Bed Speedway.
