Organizers for the Hot Rod Classics vintage race car series are excited to announce a nine-race schedule for 2024 – the biggest season yet in what will be its fifth year traveling throughout the Maritimes to bring stock car racing fans a blast from the past.

2024 will see stops at four tracks in Nova Scotia: Lake Doucette Motor Speedway (Digby), Scotia Speedworld (Halifax), Bud’s Speedway (Sydney), Riverside International Speedway (James River, near Antigonish) – three tracks in New Brunswick: Petty International Raceway (River Glade, NB), Speedway 660 (Geary, NB), River Glade Speedway (River Glade, NB) – and one track in Prince Edward Island: Oyster Bed Speedway (Oyster Bed Bridge, PE).

The series will share the spotlight at some of the biggest stock car racing events in the Maritimes including the River Glade International and Mike Stevens Memorial at Petty International Raceway, the Summer Clash 250 at Scotia Speedworld, and the Caper Memorial at Bud’s Speedway. New for ’24 are the River Glade Revival at River Glade Speedway and the NASCAR Canada Day Weekend at Riverside International Speedway where they’ll run a double feature for the first time.

  3. July 13 – Petty International Raceway, River Glade, NB – River Glade International Weekend
  4. August 3 – Oyster Bed Speedway, Oyster Bed Bridge, PE – Natal Day Weekend
  5. August 10 – Scotia Speedworld, Halifax, NS – Summer Clash 250 Weekend
  6. August 24 – River Glade Speedway, River Glade, NB – River Glade Revival
  7. September 1 – Speedway 660, Geary, NB – Speed Weekend
  8. September 15 – Petty International Raceway, River Glade, NB – Mike Stevens Memorial Weekend
  9. October 19 – Bud’s Speedway, Sydney, NS – Caper Memorial Weekend

The Hot Rod Classics Powered by Conrad Bros. features race cars from 1985 or before, some original and some replicas – all finely crafted. They offer rookie fans an opportunity to see the type of car that helped build the foundation for regional racing and at the same time evoke memories of a bygone era for veteran race fans. Members of the Hot Rod Classics Association offer a special shoutout to Steele Auto Group for their unwavering support since the series inception – support that has grown to include several of its dealerships throughout the Maritimes.

In partnership with Steele Volkswagen and M&R Automotive, the Hot Rod Classics Vintage Race Car Series is a proud supporter of the IWK Foundation raising funds through the sale of HRC-branded swag. The 2023 donation was a record at $14,000 – bringing their all-time total to $30,500 (since 2020).
