HALIFAX, NS – The East Coast International Pro Stock Tour is gearing up for the TIRECRAFT 200, which will be the final Pro Stock Tour race of the season at Scotia Speedworld this year. Originally scheduled as the season finale, the race will now mark round eight of 10 on the season, as weather forced the postponement of two previous events.  The TIRECRAFT 200 promises to showcase some of the best racing talent from across the Maritimes so be sure to join us for a day of thrills, spills, and lots of unforgettable racing.

The on-track action will start with Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races at 4:00 pm, which will set the field for the TIRECRAFT 200, grandstands will open at 1:00 pm.

Fans will be treated to a full race card Saturday, in addition to Pro Stocks fans will also be able to take in 75 laps of the Maritime Allstar Sportsman Series, 75 laps of Street Stock racing and a 50 lap Maritime League of Legends feature.

We will also take a few moments to celebrate two drivers who have hit milestones in the Maritime Pro Stock Tour Legacy Program. Stephen Lively (Shubenacadie, NS) who hit his 50th start on the Series earlier this season and Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) who will make his 200th start this Saturday at the TIRECRAFT 200. Proude will join Kent Vincent (Crapaud, PE) as the only other driver in the 200+ club!

After seven races, three young guns hold down the top three spots in the chase for the Championship. Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) continues to sit atop of the standings with a slim 27 point lead over Austin MacDonald (Pictou, NS). Rookie of the Year contender Gage Gilby (Enfield, NS) is currently third but just 39 markers behind Butcher and just 12 points from second. Mike Rodgers (Moncton, NS) is having a sensational season, his consistent runs have put him in fourth and well within contention for the Championship. Rounding out the top five is Ryan Van Oirschot (Antigonish, NS) who is also having a great season and still well within reach of the top spot with three races to go.
