MARTINSVILLE, VA – The first night race of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season started Saturday night but was eventually pushed back to Sunday afternoon because of rainy conditions at Martinsville Speedway.

Rain delayed the start of the event by more than an hour. Forty-two laps were in the books when rain started again. After considering options, NASCAR officials postponed the conclusion of the race until Sunday afternoon, resuming at 4 p.m. ET.

This sets up a double-header Sunday at Martinsville as the conclusion of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race, postponed by rain Friday night, starts at Noon, Local time.

Sunday’s forecast calls for sunny skies with scattered showers in the early afternoon.
