Sydney Speedway Adds Race Date to 2019 Calendar August 26, 2019 Regional SYDNEY, NS – Management at Sydney Speedway is excited to announce an additional race date in September. Racing will return to Sydney, Nova Scotia on Sunday, September 29 with four divisions on the afternoon card. The Steve Lewis Auto Body Bandolero, Colbourne Auto Group Legend and Mini Stock/Four Cylinder divisions will run double features while the Endurance/Bomber division will return for a 50-lap Feature and a 10-Lap Dash for Cash event. The event will be the last chance for Maritime drivers chasing INEX National Points to get one more race in locally. Racing will begin on Sunday, September 29 at 1 pm. The September race will also serve a tune-up for teams to dial in their cars for the Thanksgiving Weekend Finale on October 11th to 13th. In a similar format to the Opening Weekend in July, the Colbourne Auto Group Legend, Steve Lewis Auto Body Bandolero and Mini Stock/Four Cylinder classes will compete on both October 12th and 13th, with the Street Stock division competing in a 100-lap feature on Saturday, October 12th and the Late Model Sportsman going 100-laps on Sunday, October 13th. Lap lengths on the October event for both the Sportsman and Street Stocks division are contingent on car count and are based on 12 cars in each class. Friday, October 11 will see an afternoon open practice session for stock cars, followed by an evening Endurance event and Demolition Derby. The evening will be capped off by live entertainment and a bonfire. Competitor information, including detailed race day formats, payout and purse structure, any rules amendments and more is expected to be released next week. Adult grandstand admission prices for Sydney Speedway events (per race day) are $15 (aged 16 and up), Youth eight to 15 years of age are $6 each with children aged seven and under admitted to the grandstands free of charge. A family pass (two adults, two youth) is $35 per day. Pit admission is $25 per day and is restricted to those 18 years of age and older, or aged 14 to 17 with minor waiver form signed. Tickets are available at the gate on race day, cash only. Camping is available on site (no services or hookups) free of charge.
