Speedway 660 Set for Racing Saturday; Sunday Enduro Cancelled June 10, 2016 Regional GEARY, NB – What was to have been a double header will now be a single event this weekend at Speedway 660. Race fans will be treated to an action-packed Weekly Championship Points event on Saturday at 6:30PM, but Sunday’s ENDURO has been cancelled. “Fans will see drivers, in four exciting racing divisions, on Saturday night and even though it’s still early in the season we’re starting to see some pretty good championship point battles” said Max Roy, from Speedway 660. “Unfortunately, we will not be able to hold the first of three scheduled ENDURO events this Sunday because we didn’t have enough drivers pre-register for the race.” Speedway 660 is attempting to re-invent the Capital City Auto Parts ENDURO division by moving from the older, rear-wheel drive cars to newer, front-wheel drives. The older cars are getting harder to find and it is hoped once the transition to the newer cars is made that ENDURO racing will be revived. “The next Capital City ENDURO 200 is scheduled for July 16th and hopefully by then there will be more cars ready to race” said Roy. “With only six cars pre-registered for this weekend’s event, we decided to cancel the race instead of having fans come out to the track and be disappointed with the low number of cars.” Saturday night, championship points are up for grabs in the Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman, DMR Auto Sales Street Stock and Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter Divisions. Adult ticket prices are $14, youth tickets, for kids between eight and 16, are $10 and Family Passes for two adults and two youths are $38. Admission is always free for fans seven and under. “We’ve had right around 20 pro stock cars for every race so far this season, including a half a dozen talented rookies, so our top division is really providing fans with exciting racing” said Roy. “Sportsman, street stock and sharp shooter action has also been incredible so I invite everyone to come out Saturday for a great night of racing.” There is no rain date for this event. If the weather is unsettled on Saturday morning fans and race teams should call the race line at 506-454-7223 or visits www.speedway660.com for race day status updates. Speedway 660 is located in New Brunswick’s Fredericton region, it attracts race teams and fans from the Maritimes, New England and Quebec. The Speedway 660 racing season runs from mid May until Labour Day Weekend.
