Cape Breton Miners Memorial Speedway Posts 2016 Schedule January 25, 2016 Regional SYDNEY, NS – Management for Cape Breton Miners Memorial Speedway have announced a six-race schedule for the facility in 2016 hosting races in June, July, August and September. Their website shows rules for three different divisions: mini stock, street stock, and sportsman although there are no specifics as to which division is racing on which race date. Driver registration is now open for teams planning to compete at the facility this year; the form can be found online. About Cape Breton Miners Memorial Speedway: Formerly Island Speedway, Cape Breton Miners Memorial Speedway was re-opened by Bill and Lynne Vasil for racing in July 2014, bringing life to the motorsport and stock car racing scenes on Cape Breton Island. The track features three classes, the NAPA Sportsman, the Cape Breton Trailer Sales Street and Trucks, and The Cat Rental Store Mini Stocks, on four race dates in their inaugural season.
