The Chickenburger Thunder & Lightning cars will take centre stage at Scotia Speedworld this Friday as they do battle for 50 grueling laps in the Chickenburger Twin 50’s. The Lightning drivers will also be vying for $500 in prize money. The Lightning feature winner will receive $250, second place $150 and third place will receive $100. The Chickenburger Thunder cars will vie for their $500 purse at the next Twin 50’s event on August 14.

Also racing under the lights this week are the Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros and the Coors Light Trucks. The Bandit Bandoleros will run a 15 lap feature; their more experienced counterparts the Outlaw Bandoleros will run an extended 25 lap feature.

Admission for the Twin 50’s is just $12.00 for Adults; Youth (8-15) are $2.00 and children 7 and under are free…all summer long. Tickets are available at the gate on race day. Grandstand gates open at 5:00 PM with racing at 7:00PM.

Please note only Lightning drivers who have competed in at least two Weekly Racing Series events this season will be eligible for the posted prize money.

Scotia Speedworld (SSW) is a 3/10-mile asphalt oval racing facility. SSW is the only track in Nova Scotia to host a weekly racing series, which runs May through September and features six different classes of racecars. SSW also hosts special events, including Monster Jam and the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. SSW is located at Exit 6 on Highway 102, across from the Halifax Stanfield International Airport.
