SS, made the final pass for the lead on defending series champion John Flemming (Halifax) on Lap 64 after the two battled in close quarters for many laps in the Harry Poole Memorial 100 presented by Lucas Oil. Shawn Tucker (Fredericton, NB) finished third, ahead of a handful of cars battling for fourth and fifth behind him as Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay) and Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake) got by Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) on the last lap to round out the top five.

Last season’s Exide Batteries Rookie Of The Year Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro) piloted his car around the 1/3 mile track in just 14.222 seconds to set the Atlantic Tiltload Fast Time, his first Time Trial award with the series. Following a shakeup of the top eight drivers and the King Freight Lines Dash For Cash, Donald Chisholm (Antigonish) earned the right to start the first race of the season on the pole. Dartmouth Dodge Heat Races were won by Tucker and Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE).

Flemming paced the field for 61 laps to take home the Linde Most Laps Led Award. St. Stephen, NB’s Greg Fahey took home the Exide Batteries Hard Charger Award by picking up 10 positions from his 22nd place starting spot in the Harry Poole Memorial 100 presented by Lucas Oil. Sarah McKay (Quispamsis, NB) made history by becoming the first female to ever start a Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour event and picked up the Exide Batteries Rookie award by finishing on the lead lap, in 16th place.

Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake) took home his first career Maritime League of Legends Tour victory in his first start at Scotia Speedworld. Butcher and Justin MacNeill (Bedford) swapped the lead more than a dozen times before Butcher made the final pass with two laps to go for the win. MacNeill finished second ahead of Jeff Cruickshank (Hantsport). Butcher and Danny Harvey won the Maritime League of Legends Heat Races.

The next event for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is the Irving Blending & Packaging 100 on Saturday, May 31 at Petty International Raceway at 6:00 pm.  Tickets will also be available at the gate on race day.

Scotia Speedworld starts its Weekly Racing Series season Sunday at 2 p.m. with all six house classes in action.
