RIVER GLADE, NB – Petty International Raceway crowned its Bumper to Bumper Summer Shootout champions on Sunday afternoon. The Sunday show was a cap of a four-day showcase of speed at the quarter-mile oval that ultimately saw six drivers rise to the top of their respective divisions. At the top, Jordan Veinotte (Porter’s Lake, NS) and his Veinotte’s Truck and Auto team were difficult to beat. Veinotte opened the week with a victory on Thursday evening with Brady Creamer (Miramichi, NB) following it up with a victory on Friday evening. Veinotte took home the Late Model Sportsman 100 on Saturday evening and capped the week with a second-place run to Creamer. The Street Stock title at the Bumper to Bumper Summer Shootout was awarded to the Michael Cormier Racing team. Neal Crawford (Salisbury, NB) drove the No. 68 Moncton Chrysler Dodge entry on Thursday and Friday to second place runs with Cormier topping the Street Stock field both Saturday and in the 100-lap finale on Sunday. Logan Power (Riverview, NB) was neck and neck with Cormier after winning the first two features of the week but an 11th place finish in the Street Stock 100 on Sunday dashed his chances of topping Cormier in the weeklong title hunt. Trevor Smith (Windsor, NS) opened the week with a win in the Mini Stock division and rode that momentum to a Bumper to Bumper Summer Shootout championship. Smith completed the week with a feature win on Sunday, while Travis Keefe (Timberlea, NS) took home both the Mini Stock 100 on Friday and Saturday’s win in the four-cylinder class. Braden Langille (Shubenacadie, NS) swept both Legend car features on Sunday afternoon but it was Nicholas Naugle who ultimately took home the event title. Naugle won both 30-lap Legend features on Thursday evening and scored two podium finishes Sunday to lock down the four-race title. On the strength of feature wins on Thursday and Friday, Upper Nine Mile River, Nova Scotia’s Colton Noble drove to the LBT Pallets Bandolero Outlaw/Bandit championship at the Bumper to Bumper Summer Shootout. Noble finished runner-up to Owen Mahar (Hubley, NS) in Saturday’s feature and third to Chase MacKay (Bear Cove, NS) on Sunday. There was no denying Ayden Christensen (Windsor Junction, NS) in the LBT Pallets Beginner Bandolero division. Christensen swept all four feature events over the four days of the Bumper to Bumper Summer Shootout to easily capture the championship.
