Speedway 660 Set for Season Opener on Sunday May 21, 2015 Regional GEARY, NB – Speedway 660 will hold the first race of the 2015 season at 2 PM on Sunday. The Riverview Ford Season Opener will see racing in the Re/Max Pro Stocks, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman, DMR Auto Sales Street Stocks, Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters and West Wood Estates Apartments Bandolero Divisions. There are two distinct changes to the race format at Speedway 660 this season. The dash races for Street Stock, Sportsman and Pro Stock have been eliminated. However, the length of the feature races will increase from 20 to 30 laps for Street Stock; from 30 to 40 laps for Sportsman and; from 40 to 50 laps for Pro Stock. “We felt it was time to change things up a bit and try something new which will improve the entertainment experience for our fans” said Speedway 660’s Max Roy. “We’ve had positive feedback from drivers and fans and we think adding ten laps to the top three features and eliminating the dashes will actually speed things up and get us closer to our goal of a three hour show.” Ticket prices for Sunday’s Riverview Ford Season Opener are $14 for adults. Youth tickets (eight to 15 years of age) are $10, while children seven and under are admitted free. Pit passes are $2. The Family Pass, which includes tickets for two adults and two youths, is $38. “Fans and race teams were disappointed that we got washed out last Sunday, but they are all ready to kick off the new season this weekend” said Roy. “We had lots of cars last Saturday for our Pre-Tech and Practice Day and we are optimistic that 2015 is going to be an awesome season for our race fans.” There are no rain dates for this Sunday’s event.
