Speedway 660 Set for Saturday & Sunday Shows This Weekend June 27, 2014 Regional It’s a very special weekend in the Geary Woods. Speedway 660 is getting ready for action on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. On Saturday at 7PM the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter 30 is the prime attraction and on Sunday at 2PM the first 200 lap ENDURO takes the green flag. “A lot of race fans are making plans to camp at the track this weekend to take in the 30 lap Sharp Shooter event and the ENDURO race” said Speedway 660’s Max Roy. “It’ll be a lot of fun because there’s a full card of racing Saturday night and on Sunday things really get wild when the ENDURO race teams hit the track for their unique form of racing.” In addition to the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters, fans will also see point racing in four other divisions on Saturday night. The Westwood Estate Apartments Bandolero, DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman and Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock divisions will all be part of the show. Then on Sunday, the wildest, craziest racing in the Maritimes takes over Speedway 660. “The Sharp Shooters always put on a great show and this 30 lap feature will be intense, plus the point battles are really heating up in the other divisions” said Roy. “And on Sunday the intensity level will hit an even higher level because the ENDURO teams have been patiently waiting for their season to start and when the green flag flies we’ll see how long it takes for their patience to wear thin.” Street Stock, Sportsman, Pro Stock and Sharp Shooter heat races get underway Saturday at 7PM, but fans are encouraged to come early to see the Bando heats at 6:30. The evening will wrap up with 20 lap Street Stock, 30 lap Sportsman, 40 lap Pro Stock and 30 lap Sharp Shooter feature races. Saturday adult ticket prices are $14; Youth tickets, for kids between eight and 15 are $10; the Family Pass for two Adults and two Youths is $38. Sunday adult ticket prices are $12 and Youth tickets are $9. Family Passes are not available for ENDURO events. Admission is always free for Speedway 660’s youngest race fans, seven and under. Adult pit passes are available for an additional $2. There is no rain date for this weekend’s events. If the weather is unsettled on Saturday and/or Sunday morning, fans and race team members should call the Speedway 660 race line at 506-454-7223 or visit www.Speedway660.com for race day status updates. Speedway 660 is one of Canada’s premier stock car racing facilities. Located in New Brunswick’s Fredericton region, it attracts race teams and fans from the Maritimes, Maine and Quebec. The Speedway 660 racing season runs from mid May until Labour Day Weekend. SpeedWeekend 2014, one of the most prestigious short track events in eastern North America, is always a fitting way to wrap up Speedway 660’s racing season.
