JAMES RIVER, NS – With more than 800 RVs expected to invade IWK 250 Town at Riverside International Speedway for the IWK 250 Weekend track management have announced the inaugural Best Campsite Contest. The theme this year will be ‘Xmas at the 250′ and on Friday evening (July 18) judges will make the rounds to pick the top three decorated sites. First place will win a prize pack including a Family Pass for the 2015 season (including 250 campsite), an invitation to participate in pre-race ceremonies for this years IWK 250, a ‘Best Campsite’ banner, and be featured in next years program. Second place will win a Family Pass to the 2015 IWK 250 Super Weekend (including campsite). Third place will win a Family Pass to the 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series event at Riverside International Speedway. Spectators attending the IWK 250 on July 19 are invited to arrive early and visit the camping area to view the sites (must park in spectator parking area). The IWK 250 presented by Steve Lewis Auto Body is the marquis event at Riverside International Speedway and one of the premier super late model races in North America. Named for the IWK Health Care Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the event not only boasts some of the best stock car racing in Canada but helps raise awareness and funds for the IWK Foundation, totalling more than $190,000 since the IWK affiliation was formed together with Steve Lewis Auto Body in 2007. Riverside International Speedway is recognized as a premier stock racing facility in Canada. The 1/3-mile high banked asphalt oval roars to action several times a year for special events.
