A capacity crowd was on hand at the Holiday Inn Harbourview to celebrate the series 15th season. Chisholm’s statistics in his first championship season are impressive. The No. 89 Nova Construction/Keltic Ford sponsored Fusion hailing out of Antigonish won the Lucas Oil 150 at Riverside International Speedway in September along with amassing eight total top-five and 11 top-ten finishes. His average finish on the season was fifth and he was the only driver to complete all 1,704 feature laps contested in 2015. As the champion, Chisholm received $10,000 from series sponsor Parts for Trucks and a championship ring commissioned by Inglis Jewelers. The balance of the $50,000 Parts for Trucks Point Fund was shared by eligible full-time teams and also distributed at the Banquet. DJ Casey (Prospect) received the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year Award. Casey and Joel Hickox (Cornwall, PE) battled all season for the freshman title with Casey getting the edge after finishing 12th in the overall point standings. Casey’s season was highlighted by a second place run in the prestigious IWK 250 presented by Steve Lewis Auto Body in July at Riverside International Speedway. Chisholm also took home one of the most prestigious awards on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour, the Cathy Ledwidge Memorial Most Sportsmanlike Driver Award, named after a cherished member of the founding family of the series and voted on bu his fellow drivers. Numerous contingency awards were presented as a part of the evening’s festivities. Chisholm and Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro) each set the pace three times in Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials action throughout the season and both received the annual Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials Award. Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) was the recipient of the EIT Race Radios Consistency Award as the highest finishing driver in the series standings without a feature win in 2015. Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) gained the most positions in the year end point standings from 2014 to 2015 to pocket the Urquhart MacDonald Most Improved Driver Award. Joel Hickox won the popular Irving Oil Blending & Packaging Fan Favorite Award. The award winner was selected by fans who voted online for their favorite drivers leading up to the awards banquet. Hickox received a $500 cash award and a skid of product courtesy of Irving. Various vendor draws were made to eligible Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour teams in attendance at the Holiday Inn Harbourview. R&D Performancenter of Lower Onslow, Nova Scotia presented Hickox with a $300 gift certificate, while Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) won a Five Star body. MK Auto Products awarded Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro) with a new ARBodies body. Series sponsor Lucas Oil presented $750 product sponsorships to Proude, Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake) and Shawn Pierce (Bridgewater, NS) as chosen by random draw. Tim’s Corner Motorsports presented Best of 2015 Racing Awards to the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and Riverside International Speedway. The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour received the Fan Favorite Touring Series Award while Riverside International Speedway was the winner of the Fan Favorite Special Events Short Track. Both awards were voted on by fans. Rudi Foster of Parts for Trucks presented Junior and Brenda Kelly with a cheque for $3200 for the Scott Kelly Memorial Toy Fund at the IWK Children’s Hospital. One hundred percent of series hat and T-shirt sales each season are donated to the charity. Over the last five seasons the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour has donated over $13,000 to the Scott Kelly Memorial Toy Fund. The focus now shifts to the 16th edition of the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour, set to start in Spring 2016.
