JAMES RIVER, NS – Greg Proude (pictured above)marked the final race of his full-time racing career with a victory in the Scotia Diesel 155 at Riverside International Speedway on Sunday – a race that also decided the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour champion as Jarrett Butcher.

It was Proude’s 201st with the series and his 11th series win. It was Butcher’s first championship. The two drivers battled for the race win nose-to-tail for the final 30 laps putting on a show for the fans on hand for the Thanksgiving Special event – after three rainouts (Sept 7, Sept 8, and Oct 12).

The Scotia Diesel 155 garnered a special $5500 payout for Proude in celebration of Riverside’s 55th anniversary. The championship cheque for Butcher was $15,000.

Butcher finished the race in second-place followed by Mike Rodgers in third, Donald Chisholm in fourth, and Robbie MacEwen rounded out the top five.

While Sam Rogers was the top rookie of the race, Gage Gilby locked down the Rookie of the Year title; he’ll finish third in the final point standings behind Austin MacDonald is second place.

Pro stock heat race winners were MacDonald and Butcher.

In support class action the Dulux Paint MASS Street Stocks saw Brodie MacQuarrie take the win in the Nickerson Auto Salvage 55; Dennis Nickerson was second and Mike Duskey third.

JR Lawson was the winner of both segments of the Eastern 2.0 Waste Systems Mini 55. Tim Wright and Cody Byrne were second and third in the first segment with Byrne second and Wright third in the second segment.
