RIVER GLADE, NB (July 21, 2016) – Petty International Raceway is gearing up for a busy Saturday afternoon as the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour visits for the second time this season to contest the Irving Blending & Packaging 150. The top regional stock car touring series in Canada will be joined on the card by the Extreme Window and Entrance Systems Street Stock, Mister Transmission Mini Stock and Leisure Days RV Bandolero classes. Racing action begins with qualifying heats on Saturday, July 23rd at 6pm followed by features in all four classes.

“The Thrill Maker” Craig Ward (Riverview, NB) has taken a six point lead in the Extreme Window and Entrance Systems Street Stock class after his third straight win on July 9th. Consistency has put Nick Cudmore (Goshen, NB) in second in the standings, one point up on Quality Concrete Season Opener winner Mike Duskey (Albany, PE). Shawn Lewis (Salisbury, NB) and Tim Layton (Albert Mines, NB) complete the top five in the standings and the pair will each look for their first top three finish of the season on Saturday night.

Tim Webster’s (Beaver Bank, NS) win streak in the Mister Transmission Mini Stock division was snapped on July 9th when Rob Poirier (Irishtown, NB) took home his first feature win at the track. Webster still paces the championship standings by seven markers over popular Moncton, New Brunswick youngster Logan Power. Power has a two point advantage over Poirier as Power searches for his first feature win on the season. JR Lawson snuck by his girlfriend Chantel Ackles in the standings following the last race on July 9th and now sits fourth overall, three points behind Poirier. The Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia couple only have three points between them heading into Saturday’s fifth race of the year.

“The Flying Frenchman” Michael Cormier (Grand-Barachois, NB) gained one point on his advantage the last time the Leisure Days RV Bandolero division was on the track. Cormier now leads Lower Onslow, Nova Scotia sophomore Sam Rogers in the championship standings by four points. Nathan Blackburn (Timberlea, NS) enters battle on Saturday third in the standings, a single point up on former Canadian Bandolero champions Austin MacDonald (Pictou, NS) and Josh Langille (Coldbrook, NS). Cormier, Rogers, MacDonald and Braden Langille (Shubenacadie, NS) each have one win on the season heading into the fifth of eight races in 2016.

The Late Model Sportsman division is off this weekend but will return along with the Atlantic Modified Tour for the fourth annual Caleb Dunn Memorial presented by the Atlantic Dodge Dealers on Sunday, July 31st at 4pm.
