Petty Raceway to Close Season October 4 September 26, 2020 Regional Bonuses to be offered to teams who compete in #NBDouble at Speedway Miramichi and Petty Raceway RIVER GLADE, NB – Petty International Raceway officials have announced their final event of the 2020 season will take place on Sunday, October 4th. The event is a make-up-date for the “Petty Race Night” lost on August 29th. The action-packed card will feature the AE McKay Builders Late Model Sportsman, Street Stock, Mister Transmission Mini Stock, Leisure Days RV Bandolero, Kings County Performance Women on Wheels, and Legend cars. Racing action will begin at 2 pm on Sunday, October 4th. In a season where the three major paved oval race tracks in New Brunswick have worked together, another example of facilities coming together can be seen next weekend. The #NBDouble Bonus will see Petty International Raceway, Speedway Miramichi and Tim’s Corner Motorsports come together to reward teams who compete in both races on the first weekend of October. Any Street Stock or Mini Stock car that competes in both The Very Best Fall Shootout at Speedway Miramichi on Saturday, October 3rd and the Petty Race Day Season Finale on Sunday, October 4th will receive an additional $75 bonus. “We’re excited to work with Barry Richard and Speedway Miramichi on this final weekend of racing in the Province,” said Wayne Smith of Petty International Raceway. “They have a great racing facility, their fans are passionate in the North and we hope they along with their teams can make the trip the next day down the road to Petty to complete the racing season with one final road trip!” “It’s a great show of support that both race tracks are working together with events the same weekend,” said Barry Richard of Speedway Miramichi. “We hope race teams and fans will be able to enjoy both events as a send off to the 2020 season!” Race tracks working together helps strengthen the sport, something that Tim’s Corner Motorsports has been working towards. “The COVID-19 pandemic has brought the three tracks (including Speedway 660) in New Brunswick closer and with the success of last year’s Maritime Short Track Summit in Moncton, it kind of brings everything full circle from when we met last November,” said Tim Terry of Tim’s Corner Motorsports. “I’m thrilled to have an opportunity to chip in and help Barry and Wayne help give back to those teams that will run both races of the #NBDouble weekend!” The Speedway Miramichi Season Finale on October 3rd is highlighted by the fourth annual Very Best Fall Shootout Street Stock 100. The Atlantic Modified Tour will contest the Keswick Kitchen Season Finale, the Mini Stock division will run a 50-lap feature and the growing Bomber class will round out the card. A final Demolition Blowout will close out the show. A full preview for the Petty Race Day Season Finale will be available next week leading into the Sunday event. Tim’s Corner Motorsports will have audio and TimsCorner.tv video coverage of both events. More information will be available next week.
