RIVER GLADE, NB – Another busy night of racing is on deck at Petty International Raceway with the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour rolling into town Saturday evening for the Irving Oil 150. The quarter-mile will also welcome the Maritime League of Legends Tour into town for the first time this season for the R&D Performancenter 50 and will welcome back the Leisure Days RV Bandoleros after a week off. The Mister Transmission Mini Stock division will round out a busy Saturday evening at the River Glade, New Brunswick oval. Racing begins on Saturday, July 13th at 6 pm.

The Mister Transmission Mini Stock division sees Rob Poirier (Irishtown, NB) in a familiar position atop the point standings. Poirier has used consistency to get there with a pair of fourth-place finishes along with a third-place run back in June. Trevor Smith (Windsor, NS), who owns a win and a second place finish among his three starts this season, sits second in the standings. Chris Garnett (Havelock, NB), on the strength of two podium finishes himself, is third in points with Ryan McKnight (Sussex, NB) and Ryan Crawford (Salisbury, NB) completing the top five in the standings.

JR Lawson (Shubenacadie, NS) is the most recent winner in the division after taking the checkered flag first last Sunday afternoon and has two wins in two appearances at Petty Raceway in 2019. The former champion does not have Saturday’s event on his schedule as of press time.

After two races in the Leisure Days RV Bandolero Outlaw division, Colton Noble (Upper Nine Mile River, NS) has a two-point advantage over Danny Chisholm (Canning, NS) and Owen Mahar (Hubley, NS). Following an INEX National Qualifier win at Oyster Bed Speedway last week, Chisholm should take the lead in Canada East INEX points when it comes to the Outlaw class as he battles with Mahar early in the year for that season-long championship as well as the track title in River Glade.

The Leisure Days RV Beginner Bandolero division is expected to see a twist in the point standings after Saturday’s event. Dawson Noble (Upper Nine Mile River, NS) is the point leader after winning two races, but an off-track incident on vacation left Noble with a fractured elbow. Noble is expected to be at Petty Raceway with his No. 8 Eric Noble Trucking Bandolero but is still recovering from the injury. It opens the door for Ayden Christensen (Windsor Junction, NS), Kelsea Lewis (Salisbury, NB) and the rest of the Beginner Bandoleros to make up some ground this weekend.

For the likes of JR Lawson and Dawson Noble though, they can rest on the fact that both the Mister Transmission Mini Stock and Leisure Days RV Bandolero classes have “drop races” factored into their season-long championship point total. In essence, a driver’s best seven finishes count towards their year-end point totals. With both divisions having ten races scheduled at the start of the year, it gives teams a chance to have a mulligan throughout the season. As we’ve seen though, to win a championship, you cannot rest long or the pack will be coming up from behind to steal the championship glory.

Please note that the Maritime League of Legends Tour, Leisure Days RV Bandolero and Mister Transmission Mini Stock events will not run qualifying heat races on Saturday. Feature events for these divisions will be set by track and series procedures.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and the Maritime League of Legends Tour will also compete on Saturday with the Irving Oil 150 and the R&D Performancenter 50, respectively. The Irving Oil 150 serves as the second race in the Bumper to Bumper Petty Pro Stock Challenge (PPSC). House points will be kept over the four Pro Stock/Super Late Model events at Petty International Raceway in 2019 with the top team over the four races receiving $3,000. Second and third place finishers will receive prizes courtesy of Lonnie Sommerville Racing and Petty International Raceway, respectively.

Grandstand admission prices for Saturday’s events at Petty International Raceway are $30 for adults and $10 for youth aged eight to 18, while children seven years of age and under will be admitted free. Pit admission is $35 and is restricted to those 16 years of age and older. Grandstand gates open for spectators at 4 pm with racing getting underway at 6 pm.
