Petty Adds Pro Stock, Releases 2014 Schedule January 6, 2014 Regional source – track communications PETITCODIAC, NB (January 5, 2014) – Management at Petty International Raceway have announced a fifth house division for the 2014 season in adding the popular pro stocks. The new division will see five regular events plus three others combined with Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour (PST) dates at the facility. The addition of pro stocks to the ranks at Petty is expected to increase car count in the Tour events by providing a home track for area racers who also want to run a limited Tour schedule. Besides the addition of pro stock (PS), 2014 will see the return of Petty’s sportsman (SP), street stock (SS), mini stock (MS) and bandolero (BN) divisions. The sportsman will get eight race dates, one of which – the Caleb Dunn Memorial 125 – is a combined Maritime Sportsman Challenge event. The street stock are in for nine race dates including two specials, a Twin 25 event and a 50-lap finale. Mini stocks get nine events, all 25-lap features except for a 50-lap finale. Bandoleros have six events slated; five are 25-lap features and one, the season finale, is a 50-lap feature. In addition, so far, two touring series have been announced as visiting Petty in 2014, the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and the Maritime League of Legends Tour (MLOL). New twists for the season schedule include a Father’s Day Special on June 15, a Nationals event on July 11 (in conjunction with the Atlantic Nationals Car Show in Moncton July 10-13), and a fall finale event September 20 & 21 featuring 400-laps of racing in five divisions. A new pit exit to the track off turn four creates a new staging area where lineups can now be done without creating added congestion in the pit area – enhancing the ability for quick turnarounds between races during an event – sure to please racers and race-fans alike.
