Sterling Marlin Among 50 Early Entries for $50k-to-Win Race at Jukasa July 23, 2018 Miscellaneous HALDIMAND, ON – Two-time Daytona 500 winner Sterling Marlin is the latest driver to file entry for Jukasa Motor Speedway’s epic Canadian Short Track Nationals 200-lap pro late model event scheduled for September 1 and 2. To-date 50 teams have registered for the event from six provinces and five states. “When a promoter puts this type of effort into an event – it absolutely makes waves all over the industry,” says Marlin. “There are Late Model guys all across the country right now trying to find a way to get to Canada for this race. Everyone’s talking about it” Sterling Marlin “Our team is always excited for the chance to get out on the road again and take on a new racetrack,” continues the Fairgrounds Speedway Hall of Fame member. “From all the photos and videos I’ve seen, it looks like they’ve put together an incredible facility up there, and I’m looking forward to being a part of this race and interacting with the Canadian fans” Marlin has spent much of the last decade focused on his Pro Late Model program and believes events like the Canadian Short Track Nationals are beneficial for both the Pro Late Model division as well as the Short Track industry as a whole. “We need more races like this,” says the Tennessee-based star. “These cars can put on some of the best racing you’re ever going to see. So, when you put up a big purse for them, you’re going attract a big car count and the fans are going to get their money’s worth. The more events that we can have like this – the better off we’re going to be. There was never any question on whether our team was going to be supporting this deal or not. As soon as we heard about it, we knew we were making the trip to Canada for it.” Expected Entry List To-Date 2 – Tim Ellis, Kitchener, Ontario 3 – Jason Hathaway, Stouffville, Ontario 3 – Shae Gemmell, Dorchester, Ontario 4 – Trevor Monaghan, Mount Hope, Ontario 5 – TBA, Ray, Michigan 5 – Eric Lee, Macomb, Michigan 5 – Paighton Jacobs, London, Ontario 7 – Branden Verhoeven, Kerwood, Ontario 7 – Todd Delisle, Courtice, Ontario 8 – Kent Vincent, Crapaud, Prince Edward Island 9 – Brandon Watson, Stayner, Ontario 10K – Jesse Kennedy, Southwold, Ontario 12 – Matthew Shirley, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan 14 – TBA, Caledonia, Ontario 15 – Derek Lynch, Warkworth, Ontario 17 – Joshua Stade, Chesley, Ontario 18 – Patrick Freel, London, Ontario 21 – Matt Pritiko, London, Ontario 21 – Joseph Berretta, Exeter, Pennsylvania 21X – Terry Jacques, Mount Brydges, Ontario 22 – Glenn Watson, Barrie, Ontario 24 – Nick Goetz, Southampton, Ontario 28 – DJ Kennington, St Thomas, Ontario 29 – Ryan Kimball, Norwood, Ontario 29X – Sean Grosman, Miami, Florida 31W – Rick Spencer-Walt, Oro-Medonte, Ontario 32 – Treyten Lapcevich, Grimsby, Ontario 33 – Weston Griffith Jr, Crown Point, Indiana 36 – David Elliott, Dundas, Ontario 41 – Taylor Holdaway, Orillia, Ontario 41SC – Samuel Charland, Saint-Christophe-D’Arthabaska, Quebec 42 – Kyle Reid, Fort McMurray, Alberta 46 – Billy Zardo, Brampton, Ontario 47 – Jordan Sims, Sault Ste Marie, Ontario 47 – Brian Campbell, Wyoming, Michigan 48 – Dwayne Baker, Stayner, Ontario 51 – Braden Langille, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia 52 – Jake Sheridan, Mount Brydges, Ontario 53 – Cole Butcher, Porters Lake, Nova Scotia 54 – Jarrett Butcher, Porters Lake, Nova Scotia 63 – Hudson Nagy, Mount Hope, Ontario 72 – Junior Farrelly, Guelph, Ontario 81 – Nevin Scott, Clyde River, Prince Edward Island 81 – Andrew Gresel, Aleenford, Ontario 84 – JR Fitzpatrick, Cambridge, Ontario 86 – Billy Schwartsenburg, Guelph, Ontario 89 – James Horner, Fraserville, Ontario 91 – Patrick Laperle, St Denis Sur Richelieu, Quebec 96 – Jaxson Jacobs, London, Ontario 114 – Sterling Marlin, Columbia, Tennessee Based on registrations received, subject to change without notice.
