Mike Stevens Memorial 200 Entry List at 31 Strong September 14, 2021 Regional RIVER GLADE, NB – One of the biggest events on the New Brunswick motorsports schedule is coming up this weekend at Petty International Raceway and the River Glade, New Brunswick oval is set to be busy. After pre-registration opened for the Eighth Annual Mike Stevens Memorial Super Late Model (Pro Stock) 200 last Wednesday, a total of 26 cars had registered in just six hours. Heading into race week, a total of 31 teams have signaled their intent to compete on Saturday. The list is led by four-time race winner Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE), who will emerge from semi-retirement to drive a King Racing prepared car in the event. The defending champion of the Mike Stevens Memorial 200 has taken time off as his son Ethan begins his Bandolero career and Saturday will mark Hicken’s first start in a Late Model since the end of the 2020 season. There is sure to be no rust on Hicken as he looks for his fifth win in the Super Late Model portion of the show in the short eight year history of the race. The only other previous winner of the event that has entered the event is Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS). Blenkhorn, the 2019 East Coast International Pro Stock Tour champion, has scaled back his racing efforts to a part time schedule in 2021 but has Saturday’s event circled on his calendar. He has two races under his belt in the current season with a high of third place at Scotia Speedworld in Tour competition in August. Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) and Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) hold the hottest hands of active drivers heading into Saturday’s Mike Stevens Memorial 200. Hall has won two Pro Stock events at Petty International Raceway in 2021 including the 57th River Glade International Brycon Construction 200 in July. The No. 83H is coming off a win at the RE/MAX East Coast Elite Realty Pro Stock 250 at Speedway 660 on Labour Day Weekend. Slaunwhite is the winner of the last three consecutive East Coast International Pro Stock Tour races and leads the standings in that Series by eight points with two races to go in their championship chase. While the entry list for the event contains quantity, it also sees quality, top to bottom, in the 28 names it contains. Fall Brawl in Support of the IWK Foundation and Maritime League of Legends Tour Cross Roads Cycles 50 will play support to the Late Models.
