Street Stock Showdown Ups the Ante With Free Admission for Drivers June 13, 2018 Regional OYSTER BED BRIDGE, PE – The organizer of the Discover KIA Maritime Street Stock Showdown has announced free pit admission for all pre-registered drivers in the June 23 event at Oyster Bed Speedway. The perk is courtesy of an anonymous sponsor and brings the total event purse including cash and awards to $11,000.00. “It was the final piece in the puzzle, per se,” said Tom Nicholls, organizer. “…I have worked diligently to try and off-set as many costs as possible for the drivers to attend the race…” With the announcement, driver’s benefits have increased to a free bridge pass or ferry pass, free pit admission and $25 free fuel. All tolled the benefits are valued at $125.00 to $150.00. With a last-place finish paying $50.00, all drivers in the field are guaranteed to receive purse and perks valued at $175.00 for their efforts. To-date, 26 drivers have registered for the Discover KIA Maritime Street Stock Showdown. The driver’s benefits only go to those who have registered for the event by June 16.
