Management for the Maritime Pro Stock Tour have announced the series 2021 schedule. It includes 12 events at four tracks in the Maritime Provinces. Petty International Raceway in Petitcodiac, NB sees three dates starting May 22 with the series season opener, as well as July 10 and August 28. Scotia Speedworld, near Halifax, NS, remains the anchor facility with four dates: May 29, June 26, August 14, and the season finale on September 18. Riverside International Speedway in James River, NS (near Antigonish) hosts the series three times: June 12, the IWK 250 on July 24, and September 11. Oyster Bed Speedway in Oyster Bed Bridge, PEI has two dates, July 3 and July 31. The series is hopeful it will be able to run the full season in 2021 while at the same time continuing to monitor Public Health directives in all three provinces regarding COVID-19. “We feel the four province’s Public Health teams have done an excellent job in keeping the spread of COVID-19 to the small numbers we have seen to date. A New York Times article identified the four Atlantic provinces as having, not only the lowest number of cases in Canada but among areas and countries in the world. That gives us confidence that we will be able to race in 2021.” “If we all continue to do the easy things – wash our hands often, wear a mask where required and maintain safe distances – we have a great opportunity to be able to race in 2021.” Start times, lap counts, and event titles will be added to the schedule as available. 2021 Maritime Pro Stock Tour Schedule – Tentative May 22 – Petty International RacewayMay 29 – Scotia SpeedworldJune 12 – Riverside International SpeedwayJune 26 – Scotia SpeedworldJuly 3 – Oyster Bed SpeedwayJuly 10 – Petty International RacewayJuly 24 – Riverside International Speedway – IWK 250July 31 – Oyster Bed SpeedwayAugust 14 – Scotia SpeedworldAugust 28 – Petty International RacewaySeptember 11 – Riverside International SpeedwaySeptember 18 – Scotia Speedworld Schedule is subject to change without prior notice.
