OXFORD, ME – Jeff Taylor won Sunday’s Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in his 28th attempt at the elusive victory lane. The nine-time Oxford track champion credited a late-race red flag for rain that caused a three-hour delay in finishing the race with a change in how his car handled made it good enough to contend for the win.

“I honestly don’t know how we won,” the Farmington, Maine native shared. “I can’t believe this, we don’t run full-time like a lot of these other drivers. I can tell you one thing, that rain delay really helped this car out a lot. We just threw a team of volunteers together to beat these other teams. It’s unbelievable, it really is something.”

Short track superstar Bubba Pollard finished second and D.J. Shaw was third.

Nova Scotia’s Cory Hall had fast time in practice but an early-race mechanical issue sidelined him; three-time Maritime Pro Stock Tour champion Craig Slaunwhite also had mechanical issues. Kyle Reid, a Sydney (NS) native finished 19th and Maine’s Cassius Clark – driving for Nova Scotia’s King Competition and Rollie MacDonald, finished 14th.
