RIVER GLADE, NB – Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE) held off all chargers over a 67-lap green flag run to the finish to capture his first win of the season in the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 100 at Petty International Raceway on Saturday night. Hicken, who sat on the pole following his victory in the King Freight Dash for Cash, led all but one lap in the event en route to the victory on the high banked River Glade, NB oval. Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 100 Results Reigning Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour champion John Flemming (Halifax, NS) finished second after making a pass in the final quarter of the race on series sophomore Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS). Butcher edged out fellow second year driver Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) at the line by one hundredth of a second to earn the first podium finish of his career. Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) completed the top five. The day started with Blenkhorn putting down a lap of just 13.486 seconds to set the Atlantic Tiltload Fast Time for the second week in a row. The remainder of the starting lineup was determined through the Dartmouth Dodge Heat Races which were won by Lonnie Sommerville (Saint John) and George Koszkulics (New Glasgow, NS). Hicken led 99 laps to take home the Linde Most Laps Led Award. Shawn Tucker (Fredericton) gained six spots from his 12th place starting position to take home the Exide Batteries Hard Charger Award. In support class action it was Mike Weagle winning the Mister Transmission Mini Stock feature, Russell Smith Jr. winning the NAPA CMAX Sportsman feature, and Ken Mackenzie Jr. winning the Petty Street Stock feature.
