Hicken, who previously won the race in 2015 and 2016, led over two-thirds of the laps en route to the victory in the 200-lap Pro Stock/Super Late Model feature. The victory was worth $10,000 and after contingency awards, lap leader money and the Bumper to Bumper $3k Petty Pro Stock Challenge, the win was worth well over $20,000 for the No. 5 Chapman Brothers Construction team. Dave O’Blenis (Boundary Creek, NB) was able to capitalize and race for the win with Hicken but it was Hicken who ultimately came out the winner. O’Blenis was second while Tucker fought traffic to come home in third. The AutoRite Service Centre Time Trial winner Robbie MacEwen (Sherwood, PE) was fourth while Nicholas Naugle (Dartmouth, NS) snuck by Sarah McKay (Quispamsis, NB) in the closing laps to take fifth. Eight cautions slowed the 200-lap race, which took one hour, 27 minutes to complete. A complete list of lap leader, contingency award winners and more race info can be found once made official at PettyRaceway.com. Laurie Cormier (photo by Ken MacIsaac) For the second straight year, Laurie Cormier (Riverview, NB) won the Late Model Sportsman portion of the Mike Stevens Memorial. The final caution flag flew with five laps to go, setting up a mad dash for the front runners. When the dust finally settled, it was Luc Bourgeois (Memramcook, NB) and 2019 AE McKay Builders Late Model Sportsman champion Jordan Veinotte (Porter’s Lake, NS) joining Cormier on the podium. Brady Creamer (Miramichi, NB) and Deven Smith (Lakeside, NS) completed the top five in the 27-car Sportsman feature field.
