Hall Among Feature Winners at Sydney Speedway on Sunday

HALL CHECKS SYDNEY SPEEDWAY OFF BUCKET LIST WITH SUNDAY WIN

SYDNEY, NS – Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) has won Legend car races across North America and now he can mark Sydney, Nova Scotia’s Sydney Speedway off his checklist. Hall took home the 50-lap Colbourne Auto Legend feature on Sunday to close off the doubleheader opening weekend for the race track.

Hall battled with Kody Quinn (Sydney) for most of the afternoon, picking up where they left off following Saturday’s Colbourne Auto Legend feature. The budding rivalry came to a head with eight laps to go when the two came together on a restart. The damage left Quinn multiple laps down and left Hall scrambling from the back of the field to make it back through the pack. Hall made the late move on Devin Wadden (Hammonds Plains, NS) to ultimately score his first career win at Sydney Speedway.

Wadden held on for second in the 50-lap Colbourne Auto Legends feature with Dylan Dowe (Bedford) coming home in third.

Dowe took home the victory in the Steve Lewis Auto Body Bandolero feature. Dowe battled with Danny Chisholm (Canning) for most of the event for the victory but Chisholm’s No. 87 broke shy of the finish, ultimately taking him out of contention for the win. Austin Tanner (Shubenacadie) followed up his win on Saturday at Sydney Speedway with a second-place run on Sunday while Dylan’s younger sister Brooke Dowe (Bedford) completed the podium.

Joey Rudderham (Marion Bridge) took home the Late Model Sportsman main event, outdueling Shawn Waterfield (Sydney) for the victory. Robby Reid (Sydney) was credited with third place.

Dave Matthews (Kennetcook) was credited with the Passione Flooring & Interiors East Coast Mini Stock Tour victory after post-race technical inspection. Cody Byrne (Orwell Cove, PE) inherited second with Dave Timmons (Inverness) taking third.
