Friday is Hydraulics Plus Night at Scotia Speedworld May 31, 2018 Regional HALIFAX, NS – The CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series returns Friday night for Hydraulics Plus Night. Four CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series divisions will see action including the Toursec Thunder, Strictly Hydraulics Legends, Affordable Fuels Sportsman and of course the young stars of the Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros. Racing Action gets underway at 7:00 PM. After their Season Opener got rained out on May 20th, the Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros will make their CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series debut for 2018 on Friday night. Fans can expect to see returning stars including reigning champions Josh and Nathan Langille (Coldbrook) and Brooke Dowe (Bedford). Former champion Sam Rogers (Lower Onslow), 2018 INEX Winter Nationals runner-up Danny Chisholm (Canning), the Noble brothers (Colton and Dawson, Upper Nine Mile River), Owen Mahar (Hubley) are among the returning cast of youngsters to take the track on Friday. A number of new faces will join the Hydraulics Plus Bandolero ranks in 2018. Among those expected to make their debut on Friday include Emma MacMillan (Glenholme), daughter of 2013 Toursec Lightning champion Marc MacMillan, and Emily Chisholm (Antigonish), daughter of 2015 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Champion and Riverside Speedway owner Donald Chisholm. The Hydraulics Plus Bandolero cars are turn-key, spec race cars produced by US Legend Cars International in Harrisburg, North Carolina and sanctioned worldwide by INEX. A number of current Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series stars got their start in Bandolero race cars, including Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott, Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr. and Daytona 500 champions Austin Dillon and Joey Logano. On a local level, Toromont Cat 250 winners Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake) and Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro) lead a talented alumni list of drivers who cut their teeth racing a Bandolero car at Scotia Speedworld. Joining track announcer Tim Terry in the booth for Hydraulics Plus Night is Steve Matthews (Bedford), driver of the No. 198 Toursec Lightning. Matthews is the point leader in the class after winning the season-opening feature on CTV Night. A former “Lightning on the Hill 50” winner, Matthews has experience on many levels within our sport from working with Jerome Kehoe and Josh Collins on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour to racing to a top-five finish in the 2017 Shriners Classic in his first ever Late Model Sportsman start. Matthews will add depth to the booth on Friday night when he joins Tim on the call of Hydraulics Plus Night. Admission for Hydraulics Plus Night is $15.00 adults, youth (8-15) $5.00, pit admission is $18.00. Children 7 and under are free. About Scotia Speedworld: Scotia Speedworld (SSW) is a 3/10-mile asphalt oval racing facility.
