DARTMOUTH, NS – The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour’s 14th season will come to a close on Saturday at the Park Place Hotel and Conference Centre Ramada Plaza with the annual year end awards gala. John Flemming of Halifax will receive his fifth series trophy after winning the 2014 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour point championship, and the $10,000 payout that goes with it. While Flemming will receive the lion’s share of the $50,000 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour point fund, all full-time teams that competed on the series in 2014 will be honoured Saturday night. Over 200 drivers, crews, officials and sponsors are expected to pack the ballroom Saturday to celebrate their accomplishments from the 2014 season. In addition to point fund awards, contingency awards from the season will be presented and vendor draws will be made. Back for 2014, Irving Oil Blending & Packaging will present the Fan Favourite Award, which fans have been voting on during the month of November. The prestigious Cathy Ledwidge Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the Most Sportsmanlike Driver in the series, as voted on by their fellow competitors. Vendor draws from Five Star Bodies/R&D Performancenter, ARBodies/MK Auto Products and the Linde Group will also be made. Awards to be presented Saturday evening include; the Linde Group Most Laps Led Award, Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials Award, Urquhardt MacDonald Most Improved Driver Award and the EIT Race Radios Consistency Award. Sarah McKay (Quispamsis, NB) will be honored as the first female Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year in series history. McKay will take home $500 and the coveted “battery trophy” for being the top-finishing newcomer to the series in 2014. Reception and seating at the Park Place Hotel and Conference Centre Ramada Plaza on Saturday begins at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony. A dance with music by DJ Chad White will follow the awards.
