June 19 – The INEX Qualifying night show at Scotia Speedworld has been postponed by rain. Track officials will consult with INEX and announce a new date ASAP.

HALIFAX, NS (June 16, 2015) – The Weekly Racing Series heads into week three of the 2015 season Friday with INEX Night. Four divisions will see extended distance features, the Hydraulics Plus Bandit and Outlaw Bandoleros will both have a 25 lap main event, the Strictly Hydraulics Legends and the Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman will race 50 lap features. AMKA (Atlantic Motorsport Karting Association) will present a short demonstration on track at 7:00PM.

For those who are not familiar, INEX is the International Sanctioning body of Legend and Bandolero cars. INEX was developed to promote and organize Legend and Bandolero car racing worldwide.

The 50-lap Legends feature on Friday is an INEX National Qualifier, which will not only count toward their season long point total towards a Scotia Speedworld Legend Car Championship, but will lock the winner into a provisional starting spot in the 2015 INEX Asphalt Nationals in Anderson, South Carolina this November. Last season, Cole Butcher of Porter’s Lake, took an Asphalt Nationals qualifying spot earned at Scotia Speedworld and finished 12th in the Pro Feature at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The 25 lap Bandolero features will count towards their INEX National Championship and Scotia Speedworld championship points for each competitor in the field, and will feature the finest young talent in the Maritimes aged eight to 16 years. Braden Langille (Shubenacadie, Outlaw division) and Nathan Langille (Coldbrook, Bandit division) each returned from INEX Winter Nationals in Orlando, Florida with championship trophies – both of whom call Scotia Speedworld home.

The Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman will see their first extended feature of the season Friday night. After two events Phil Barkhouse Jr (Hammonds Plains) has a slim two point lead over Russell Smith Jr (Lakeside). The 08 car which was piloted by Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro) at the season opener currently sits third, just one point ahead of Travis Roma (West Chezzetcook) and just two points ahead of Jordan Veinotte (Porter’s Lake) who rounds out the top five. A mere six points separate the top five and the top ten are hot on their heels. The 50 lap feature could set the tone for the season for many teams.

Admission for the Weekly Racing Series is $12 for adults; $2 for youth (8-15yrs) children seven and under are free all season at Scotia Speedworld! Grandstands open at 5:00PM with racing slated for 7:00PM. For more information on this event or the 2015 season please visit www.scotiaspeedworld.ca.
