East Coast Mini Stock Tour Releases Expanded Schedule for 2020

Management for the Passione Flooring & Interiors East Coast Mini Stock Tour is excited to release the series 2020 schedule. The schedule expands to a dozen events over eleven weekends between eight of the region’s top race tracks. For the first time in Series history, the schedule includes visits to all three Maritime Provinces in the same season. The Tour will begin their season in May on the Victoria Day Long Weekend and end in mid-September.

Petty International Raceway, Scotia Speedworld, Riverside International Speedway and Sydney Speedway will each host two races on the Series in 2020. Petty International Raceway will host the season opener for the third consecutive season on Saturday, May 16th and will host a second race for the Tour on Saturday, June 27th. Scotia Speedworld will serve as the venue for the season finale for the first time in the four year history of the Series on Saturday, September 12th while also hosting the Tour on Saturday, June 20th.

Northern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton will see its share of racing action with the Passione Flooring & Interiors East Coast Mini Stock Tour. Riverside International Speedway will see the Mini Stocks make two treks to the iconic high banked oval in a 15-day span in August with races on Saturday, August 15th and Saturday, August 29th. Sydney Speedway will host a doubleheader weekend for the second consecutive season with the June 13th and 14th weekend serving as Race Two and Three on the Tour for 2020.

The biggest additions to the schedule are featured in the month of July. The Series will visit two new venues, in turn becoming not only one of the diverse stock car touring divisions in the region but also becoming the only active Maritime based touring series to visit all ten organized stock car ovals within the three Maritime Provinces. The final piece to the oval puzzle for the Passione Flooring & Interiors East Coast Mini Stock Tour will take place on Saturday, July 25th when the Series visits Oyster Bed Speedway in Oyster Bed Bridge, Prince Edward Island. The race will serve as the first point paying feature for the Series on Prince Edward Island.

Two weeks prior to the first trip to Oyster Bed Speedway for the Series, the Mini Stock competitors will turn left and right with a stop at Atlantic Motorsports Park outside of Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia. The race will take place on Sunday, July 12th with a mandatory practice day for competitors on Saturday, July 11th. A full race day format and additional information for the inaugural road race in Series history is to be announced as the event nears.

Familiar long weekend stops at Lake Doucette Motor Speedway and Speedway 660 will also be a part of the 2020 schedule. The third annual Showdown on the Shore at Lake Doucette Motor Speedway will take place on Sunday, August 2nd. The Speedway 660 stop, which has been on the schedule since the Series’ inaugural year in 2017, will be on the Saturday evening of the 20th Annual SpeedWeekend on Saturday, September 5th.

The Series will be a part of many major stock car events throughout the 2020 season. In addition to being a part of two season-opening events and three season-finale weekends at our host venues, the Series will race five times with the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and will open the weekend ahead of the Pro Stock 250 at Speedway 660. The Passione Flooring & Interiors East Coast Mini Stock Tour has the most diverse schedule of any Maritime based Touring Series, racing on both road and oval courses and competing on eight different tracks over the season.

The Series recently announced via their social media that they are opening their competition rulebook up in 2020 to various makes and models. In the first three years, the Series had specifically fielded Honda race cars. Teams interested in entering any of the twelve events on the Series are invited to check out the updated rulebook on the Tour’s website.
