GEARY, NB – One week after registration opened for the 18th Annual McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250, the entry list sits at 24 for the $15,000-to-win Pro Stock event at Geary, New Brunswick’s Speedway 660. Entries have been filed from all three Maritime Provinces and the State of Maine for the Sunday, September 2nd classic.

The first to the registration window, much like the 2016 event, was the Rodgers team from Smithtown, New Brunswick. Andrew Rodgers will attempt to race his first McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 on Sunday, September 2nd. Rodgers is fresh off his first career 250-lap race after racing his No. 42 R.A. Lawrence Engineering Chevrolet in the Toromont Cat 250 at Scotia Speedworld on August 11th.

Nicholas Naugle (Dartmouth, NS), Matt Harris (Fredericton Junction, NB) and Steve Halpin (Saint John, NB) were close behind Rodgers for the top spot in the race to register for the 250.

Within minutes of each other, Dave O’Blenis (Boundary Creek, NB), Johnny Clark (Hallowell, ME) and Lonnie Sommerville (Barnesville, NB) entered the race. Inaugural 250-winner Kirk Thibeau (Presque Isle, ME) has filed an entry for September 2nd and King Racing has also entered two cars, one of which is expected to include reigning champion Cassius Clark (Farmington, ME). Between the five, they own nine of the previous 17 McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 victories.

The RE/MAX East Coast Elite Realty Pro Stock division is well represented in the early registration list. Besides O’Blenis, 2018 feature winners Ryan Messer (Harvey, NB), Greg Fahey (St. Stephen, NB), Ashton Tucker (Lyttleton, NB) and Brent Roy (Hanwell, NB) have filed entries for SpeedWeekend. Roy and O’Blenis each took a Best of the Best Pro Stock 100 win earlier this season.

Five-time Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour champion John Flemming (Halifax, NS) will look to complete his Maritime Triple Crown on SpeedWeekend. No driver has won all three major 250-lap races in the region. Flemming is missing the McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 to go with his two IWK 250 wins and his Toromont Cat 250 to complete his crown.

Cushman Competition will return to the McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 with one of Maine’s hottest young talents behind the wheel. Austin Teras (Gray, ME) made his mark on Legends racing where he raced to numerous titles including an INEX Winter Nationals and NELCAR championship. The 15-year old has made the jump to Super Late Model competition and is turning heads with every lap on track. Jay Cushman won the 2005 edition of the McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 with Scott Chubbuck.

Chris Hughes (Brackley Beach, PE) will make his return to Speedway 660 on SpeedWeekend. Hughes, driving the No. 32C  for Subaru of Moncton, is a former pole winner at Speedway 660 in Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour competition and is looking forward to making the haul to the Geary woods to compete in the McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250.

A complete pre-registration list, by the order of registration, is included below. Online registration for teams in both the McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 and the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman 150 are available now at Speedway660.com.
