GEARY, NB – Brady Creamer (Miramichi) continued his impressive return to Sportsman racing Saturday night at Speedway 660 by taking the win in the Martin’s Home Heating 125. The victory was Creamer’s first at the track on the season in his first start aboard the No. 10 Maritime Steel Chevrolet.

Creamer went to the lead for the first time on Lap 65 but was put to the test on multiple restarts within the final ten laps.

“We improved on the car after the heat race,” said Creamer in victory lane. “These guys worked their magic before the feature and they are the reason we are here. I had to work really hard on the restarts to hold off Alexandra and Courtney. This is a huge win and we hope to come back and do it again later this year!”

The O’Blenis sisters fought Creamer for the lead late but Alexandra and Courtney had to settle for second and third, respectively. Drew Greenlaw (Eastport, ME) led a dozen laps after inheriting the lead from Curtis Collins (Saint John) on Lap 51 and brought the No. 23 car home fourth ahead of Laurie Cormier of Riverview.

Matt Rogers (Smithtown), Collins and Greenlaw took home heat race victories. Sixteen cars answered the call to the green flag for the first extended Sportsman race of the season in Atlantic Canada.

Dave O’Blenis (Boundary Creek) lit the lamp for the third time in 2018 by taking home the RE/MAX East Coast Elite Realty Pro Stock feature on Saturday night. O’Blenis led wire-to-wire in a 50-lap feature that featured the first and only caution on Lap One. Greg Fahey (St. Stephen) and Ryan Messer (Harvey) joined O’Blenis on the podium with Ashton Tucker (Lyttleton) and Brent Roy (Hanwell) completing the top five. O’Blenis and Ian Rasmussen (New Denmark) won qualifying heats.

Shawn Hyslop (St. Stephen) drove to a popular DMR Auto Street Stock feature win, his first of the 2018 season. He was challenged by Justin Cole (Harvey) with Hyslop crossing under the checkered flag ahead of his friend. Roger Slocum (Chipman) was third, followed by Riley Goodwin (MacAdam) and Rick Cashol (Saint John). Hyslop won the heat race.

BJ Gillespie (Nackawic) led flag to flag in the 20-lap Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter feature. Gillespie is the fourth different official winner in the division in five races on the 2018 schedule. Bryan Suttie (Keswick) and Scott Kennie (Fredericton) raced to podium finishes while Brody Levesque (Fredericton) and “Grey Owl” (Saint John) rounded out the top five. Gillespie and Levesque won qualifying heat races.

The next event for Speedway 660 is Championship Point Racing on the Canada Day long weekend. Racing begins in four action-packed divisions on Saturday, June 30th at 6:30 pm.
