Rain Postpones Scotia Speedworld Opener to July 9 July 2, 2021 Regional Persistent rain in the area has forced the postponement of Friday evening’s season opener at Scotia Speedworld to next Friday, July 9. Scotia Speedworld Opens Friday With Weekly Racing Series – and Fans HALIFAX, NS (July 1, 2021) – The CARSTAR Weekly Racing series fires up Friday night at Scotia Speedworld for the first time this season. Race time is 7:00 pm. Pit gates open at 4:00 pm, while the grandstand gates open at 5:00 pm. All CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series divisions will be in action. The Fleet Brake Atlantic Sportsman cars, Strictly Hydraulics Legend cars, TOURSEC Thunder & Lightning cars and Bandoleros will all be on track, with drivers trying to get the drop on the competition right out of the gate. Per Public Health guidelines The grandstand will be configured into four zones with 150 people in each. Tickets will be available at the track on Friday. Per Public Health protocols, distancing between bubbles is required and fans need to wear a mask moving about the facility. Grandstand sections 1 and 2 are one section, section 3 is a section, as is section 4 and section 5. Ticket prices are the same as last year. Ticket booths for each area are located as follows. Section 1 and 2 at the top of the gate hill. Section 3 ticket booth is located at the left-hand side of the Tower building when looking from the parking lot. The ticket booth for sections 3 and 4 is in the breezeway. Section 5’s ticket booth is next to the Halifax Shopping Center sign. We will have staff in the parking lot to guide you to the area of your choice. The Pit Ticket Booth will be used for Pit entry. Those who had a paved pit stall will have that spot again this year if they want it. COVID rules for the pits are the same as last year. Face masks are mandatory. If you are in your trailer or pit box you are not required to wear a mask. Step outside of either area, you need a mask. Any common tools used by the crew need to be sanitized before the next person uses it. Safe distancing while outside the pit. The Pit canteen will be open as usual. The Grandstand canteen will not be open. The short period of time between when we learned we were able to open the grandstands did nt allow enough order time for the food.
