HALIFAX, NS – The CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series heads into the homestretch of the 2019 season Friday with INEX Night presented by Strictly Hydraulics. Four divisions will see action Friday evening; the Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros, Toursec Lightning, Sportsman and the Strictly Hydraulics Legends who will race a 50 lap feature as an INEX National Qualifier.

For those not familiar, INEX is the International Sanctioning body of Legend and Bandolero cars. INEX was developed to promote and organize Legend and Bandolero car racing worldwide.

For Legends, Strictly Hydraulics Night serves as a regional qualifier for INEX Asphalt Nationals. The top finishing INEX Pro, Master, Semi-Pro and Young Lion driver in the Strictly Hydraulics 50 will become eligible for a provisional starting spot in Asphalt Nationals. This year, the oval finale for Legend cars will be held at Carteret County Speedway in Swansboro, North Carolina on Saturday, October 19th. In 2018, Emily Meehan (Rawdon, NS) punched her ticket to INEX Asphalt Nationals at “The Bullring” at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada via the Strictly Hydraulics 50 at Scotia Speedworld. Meehan finished 12th in the event last October.

The Strictly Hydraulics 50 also serves as a key piece in not only the Strictly Hydraulics Legend Friday night standings but also in the INEX National Championship point puzzle. For cool stories with just under two months left in the INEX season, look no further than Tim Hortons at the Airport Rookies Brad and Devin Wadden (Hammonds Plains, NS). The father and son duo lead Canada East in their respective INEX divisions and are both top ten in INEX Touring Points, which tracks progress in National Qualifiers throughout the season. In addition to the CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series points, currently led by Andrew Lively (Middle Sackville, NS), there is a bigger picture in sight for some of our Legend drivers on Friday evening.

For Bandoleros, Strictly Hydraulics Night serves as a qualifier race towards their International Point Series. INEX members accumulate points at INEX sanctioned feature events throughout the season. A Bandolero driver’s best nineteen finishes plus their best qualifier counts towards their International Point standing. Currently, Friday night’s Strictly Hydraulics Night is the last scheduled INEX Bandolero Qualifier race in the Maritimes for 2019.

Joining Tim Terry in the announcer’s booth on Friday is Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour driver “The Thrillmaker” Craig Ward.

Admission for the CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series is $15 for adults, $5 for youth (8-15yrs), children seven and under are free all season at Scotia Speedworld! Grandstands open at 5:00 PM with racing slated for 7:00 PM. For more information on this event please visit www.scotiaspeedworld.ca
