Early Entry List is Stout for Speedway 660 Pro Stock 250

GEARY, NB – Registration opened Tuesday for the Pro Stock 250 set for Speedway 660 on September 4. Officials employed a unique process where online registration opened at 5 p.m. and advertised that tire selection for the rich race would be based on the time registrations were received. Within 12 minutes 27 teams had filed their intention to run; 24 hours later there were 36 names on the list including former winners of the race, series champions from both sides of the border, and lots more.

New Brunswick’s Matt Rodgers entry was the first to appear; rather ironic as it will be Rodgers first start in the event. Nicholas Naugle (Dartmouth, NS) was the next entry, followed by 2001 Pro Stock 250 winner Kirk Thibeau (Fort Fairfield, Maine), and Sarah McKay (Quispamsis).

Other winners of the race who have filed their entries for this year’s edition of the Pro Stock 250 include Cassius Clark (2016, 2016 – Farmington, Maine), Johnny Clark (2007, 2010 – Hallowell, Maine), Lonnie Sommerville (2006,2009 – Barnesville), and Craig Slaunwhite (2008 – Terence Bay, NS).

‘250’ winners at other tracks on the entry list include Ben Rowe (Turner, Maine) and John Flemming (Halifax, NS) – both looking to become the Maritimes first-ever ‘triple-crown’ winner in adding a Pro Stock 250 win to their resume. Oxford 250 winners Glen Luce and Joey Polewarczyk will make their first starts in the event as well. And Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) – Atlantic Cat 250 winner in 2014 – will be there, too.

Many others will be looking to add their names to the winners list of the Pro Stock 250 as well as take home what could be the biggest payday of their career. Tire selection will be broken into groups with four teams at a time allowed to enter the tire trailer to make their selections, usually based on measurements that allow the best stagger for the car setup. Winners of the Pro Stock 250 have taken home upwards of $20,000 in the past.
