(March 22, 2016) – We spoke with John Flemming this afternoon. The five-time champ confirmed the shop and contents are likely to be a total loss, although said they’ve not been able to sift through debris yet as there are still hot spots. He confirmed the sportsman car lost in the fire was owned by JP Arsenault, a racer as well as a member of Flemming’s pit crew. Flemming, understandably still overwhelmed by the shock of the fire, described the loss as devastating and hopes to be able to update fans with more details as well as the future for Flemming Motorsports by early next week. In the meantime, he wants to thank everyone for their support.

(March 21, 2016) – There was a fire at the Flemming Motorsports shop near Halifax early Monday morning. The team lost two cars – a Port City super late model and its NASCAR Pinty’s Series car, all of their equipment, and the shop. There was also a sportsman car in the shop and lost in the fire. No one was hurt. According to news957.com, the call came in around 3 a.m., the cause is not yet known, and fire crews remained on the scene early Monday morning monitoring hot spots.

DJ Casey posted the news via social media Monday afternoon. Casey is scheduled to take over the No. 97 ride from five-time PST champion John Flemming, with Flemming stepping away from full-time racing this season.
