2016 Schedule Set for Petty International Raceway March 1, 2016 Regional RIVER GLADE, NB – Petty International Raceway is pleased to unveil their 2016 schedule of events. The high banked oval will play host to ten stock car racing events from May to September, entertaining fans of all ages with thrilling short track action. The Quality Concrete Season Opener kicks off 2016 on Saturday, May 21st, with four divisions of racing in action. The Late Model Sportsman division will headline the card with their feature of 100-laps, along with action in the Extreme Windows & Entrance Systems Street Stock, Mister Transmission Mini Stock and Leisure Days RV Centre Bandolero divisions. Of note, all Sportsman feature races in 2016 will pay the winner a guaranteed $2,000. All four classes will be back in action two weeks later with the Trent Blakney Towing & Excavating 100 for Sportsman taking centre stage on Saturday, June 4th. Making their debut on the June 4th card will be the Women on Wheels division. Set up as a cost effective division for female drivers looking to get into the sport of stock car racing, the Women on Wheels will race thrice in 2016 – June 4th, July 9th and September 10th. The biggest Sportsman race on the season will be contested as a part of the Atlantic Dodge Dealers Caleb Dunn Memorial on Sunday, July 31st. The Sportsman division will run 150-laps on the afternoon and will be joined by the Extreme Windows & Entrance Systems Street Stock, Mister Transmission Mini Stock and Leisure Days RV Centre Bandolero divisions. The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will make three appearances at Petty International Raceway. The popular Maritime touring series will contest a 100-lap feature on Saturday, June 25th while 150-laps will be the distance on Saturday, July 23rd and as a part of the 52nd Jones Auto Body River Glade International weekend on Saturday, August 27th. The Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Tour and the Leisure Days RV Centre Bandolero class will play support for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour on August 27th, while the Sportsman division will contest 125-laps the evening prior to open the weekend. Joining the Sportsman on the Friday, August 26th card are the Extreme Windows & Entrance Systems Street Stock and Mister Transmission Mini Stock classes. The Third Annual Mike Stevens Memorial presented by R. Stevens Mechanical will run on Saturday, September 24th and will feature an open invitational Pro Stock event, a 75-lap Street Stock feature and the Mister Transmission Mini Stocks. The Mike Stevens Memorial presented by R. Stevens Mechanical will close out the 2016 season at Petty International Raceway. On Saturday, September 10th, the Sportsman class will contest their season finale in the Clear Choice Towing 100 with the Leisure Days RV Centre Bandoleros closing their year with Twin 25-lap features. The Extreme Windows & Entrance Systems Street Stock and Mister Transmission Mini Stock divisions will each contest 50-lap features on September 10th. Also on the schedule in 2016 for the River Glade oval includes the second annual “Night of Destruction” Demolition Derby presented by MetalCore and D.R. Scrap Metals on Saturday, July 9th along with a full card of stock car racing. The Atlantic Modified Tour will run three events at Petty International Raceway. The open wheeled racers will see competition on the high banks on Sunday, July 31st during the Atlantic Dodge Dealers Caleb Dunn Memorial, Friday August 26th during the 52nd Jones Auto Body International and Saturday, September 24th during the Third Annual Mike Stevens Memorial presented by R.
