Slaunwhite Breaks Drought With PST Win at Scotia Speedworld August 16, 2021 Regional After three second-place finishes, and a third this season Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) finally picked up his first win of 2021 at the Nova Truck Centres 150 this afternoon at a blistering Scotia Speedworld. Slaunwhite had to contend with Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) who was hot on his heels the entire race. It was Slaunwhite’s first checkered flag with the series since 2016, breaking a nearly five-year winless drought. Butcher did earn his first podium finish of the year with his second-place finish. Ashton Tucker (Lyttleton, NB) improved on his fourth-place finish yesterday and found himself in the final spot on the podium. Cole Butcher (Hantsport, NS) continued his great season coming home fourth, followed by Ryan Messer (Harvey, NB) in fifth. The race marked round five of nine for the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour. Waylon Farrell (Conception Bay South, NL), Cole Butcher, and Slaunwhite won their Atlantic Tiltload heat races which set the field for the Nova Truck Centres 150. Ashton Tucker took home the Kenny U Pull Hard Charger award. The race was slowed by four cautions and saw five lead changes.
